Hi, I’m Caroline and welcome to SewAlign!
I am a sewing/dressmaking enthusiast and live in Essex with my husband. I began sewing in May 2012, after watching Kirsty Allsop on TV making a lovely patchwork cushion and I had the strong desire to sew! My mother was a professional seamstress when I was a child but unfortunately I was not interested to learn the craft at the time. I regret not learning to sew at a much younger age.
I began making clothes in January 2013 and it has become my passion. I enjoy buying fabric, sewing patterns and related books/magazines. I find it most satisfying to make my own clothes and accessories (especially bags). I have a special interest in modern Japanese style and vintage style. I enjoy making gifts for family and friends and am a Cath Kidston fan.
I would like to encourage other people to sew and to make their own clothes – making is the new buying!
I have been inspired to create my own blog (this is my first ever one) by the other lovely and talented sewing/dressmaking ladies out there. Thanks for inspiring me to do the same.
